Knight On Ending Nike Golf: "Kind of an easy financial decision"
/Hard on Tiger, easy on the bottom line, says Nike CEO Phil Knight of the decision to end Nike's golf equipment business.
Speaking to ESPN's Mike & Mike.
"It was kind of an easy financial decision [to shutter Nike golf]. It was a really tough emotional decision. It was hard emotionally. It was hard emotionally for Tiger. I spoke to him a couple times. He was upset, and I was upset. It was something we would have rather not have happened, but the financial reality just led us to it."
His comments just prior to this, suggesting that one innovation leads to discounting for the other companies.
