Cheyenne Could Beat Tiger Right Now
/Oh before you get upset that I'm stating the obvious--Tiger's a gimp with his clubs collecting dust and niece Cheyenne is on track to possibly win a USGA event--but it still had to be said. If nothing else, to speak to Cheyenne Woods' continued stellar play.
From an unbylined AP story after winning two matches Thursday:
Woods, the 20-year-old Phoenix player who won the Atlantic Coast Conference individual championship last month as a junior at Wake Forest, beat 14-year-old Bethany Wu of Diamond Bar, Calif., 2-up in the second round, and routed 19-year-old Alex Stewart of Peoria, Ariz., 8 and 7 in the third.
According to Beth Ann Baldry, the 8&7 win was the second largest winning margin in WAPL history.
