Poulter: Padraig Only Has To Play 13 Or 14 Good Holes!

Ian Poulter's defense of the Padraig Harrington selection, as shared exclusively with Derek Lawrenson, suggests that Padraig will be fine because he doesn't have to put an 18-hole masterpiece together.

Does this mean Poulter knows the two-time Open Champion doesn't have a great round in him right now? Way harsh, Ian!

"Some players say they don't like reading about golf in the papers and don't mean it, but Padraig genuinely doesn't follow the game in the press, so that has got to be in his favour. I honestly think he will be fine. It's matchplay and he is a fighter. He has an incredible short game and it's not strokeplay where you have to perform for 72 holes. In matches at the Ryder Cup, if you can turn in 13 or 14 very good holes, then hopefully you've done enough."
