FIFA Beats The International Golf Federation 8&7!

Looks like the International Golf Federation needs to hit the range for a post-round bucket of balls, or four, after finishing second-to-last in a Danish Institute for Sports Studies analysis of 35 Olympic sports federations.

FIFA scored a 67.8% to the IGF's 27.8%, way behind the average of 45.4%, but hey, in front of the  International Shooting Sport Federation!

From Pete Madden's golf.com report, which included contact the IGF for comment and this from the report's author on the "problematic" structure of golf's Olympic representative.

"If you don't have robust international structures, there's a higher likelihood of opportunistic behaviors and ineffective governance because those structures shape the behavior of individuals," Geeraert said.

The issues?

Geeraert pointed to a number of shortcomings in the IGF's governance structure that demand "serious improvement," including the lack of externally audited financials, term limits on federation officials, and rules on ethics and conflicts of interest.

Rules on conflicts of interests? For the five families?

Of course, one has to wonder if the fantastically corrupt FIFA passed the study with flying colors...
