Big Welcome To Golfweek's New Fantasy Forecaster
/Granted, the feds are looking hard at DraftKings and certain fantasy league's may be short-lived (reports Joe Drape and Jacqueline Williams for the New York Times), but that doesn't prevent a tip-of-the-cap to Golfweek for hiring Mike Glasscott, a full time fantasy handicapper whose work will appear at Golfweek.com.
While his style is not quite as, uh, visually stimulating as Alex Myers' weekly The Grind column, Glasscott offers lineups for all of the fantasy leagues, including DraftKings, Avis/PGA Tour and GolfChannel.com's league.
You can check out his impressive work here.
I found the timing particularly interesting since my ear was bent today by a die-hard sports fan who loves to play fantasy leagues and found the golf offerings non-existent to lightweight at best. This devoted fantasy leaguer says it makes him watch sports more than he did in the past and he loves the analysis he gets from writers and podcasts in all sports but golf. So Glasscott's column may help fill the void.
I'd take some of his advice after a dreadful performance in the Avis/PGA Tour playoff league we started, but with only a week in between my doctors suggest allowing the pain to subside before digging in sometime around, oh, I don't know, when the PGA Tour should actually be starting up again?
