James Corrigan of the Telegraph covers Stenson's frustrations getting the better of him on Thursday. From the report:
After breaking the offending club Stenson calmly handed it to his caddie, Gareth Lord. He reported afterwards that it was gap wedge - and the gap between the grip and clubface had widened considerably.
Even tough he seemed reticent to talk about the incident, Stenson made light of it. “I slipped,” he said. “Let’s just leave it at that.” With all the equipment trucks on site the club will be mended in time for the second round. “They will fix it and knowing that makes it easier for us to break clubs,” he said. “It will need a bit of love after lunch.”
