Video: Pinehurst No. 2's Twelfth & Thirteenth Holes

At 484 yards for the men and 417 for the women, the par-4 twelfth plays to a wide fairway and rewards drives down the left side with a better view of another crowned green. Drives down the right shorten the hole a bit but the view isn't as good. This is also another hole with a pinch point that could leave a divoting issue, though the ample width here should help.

Run-ups don't seem possible to this green. Or at least, possible to get the ball close.

After two very similar par-4s, the uphill 13th offers a nice change of pace. At 382 for the men and 348 this will be the home of a lot of divots unless it's shortened and made driveable, though I'm not sure whether it'll prove enticing or just so short that it essentially plays as a long par-3. The lay-up probably can't go more than 260 yards from the normal tee. Long isn't so bad if you have spin on your ball since the false front and deep fronting bunkers are tough obstacles to deal with.
