Video: Pinehurst No. 2's Eleventh Hole
/I've fallen behind but I can catch up! Maybe the stall in USGA Pinehurst No. 2 flyovers happened because we've just left my favorite stretch of holes at Pinehurst--the 7th thru 10th and now enter a less exciting bit of the property with some seemingly long par-4s, though I'm not sure how lengthy any two-shotter is for today's ripped, kale-eating, all natural golfers who just happen to hit their Top Flite-equivalents with driver heads the size of watermelons.
Anyway, this is one of the holes where it'll be fun to see if players pick a side of the fairway depending on the hole location. The width is there. The on-paper strategy there too. But I'm not sure how many will be that picky with short irons in, even for a hole that will play 483 yards for the men's U.S. Open and 447 yards for the women's U.S. Open a week later.
