That Was Quick! Tiger To Return At The Quicken Loans
/Great news from Tiger Woods today, after he sat down at his computer to pen a Facebook post announcing a return to the event benefitting his foundation next week and just two weeks prior to the Open Championship where it seems likely he'll be playing.
The post:
**Cam Huffman talks to the Greenbrier's Jim Justice, who confirms that Tiger will not be playing two weeks in a row.
“He is going to play in his event (the tournament at Congressional donates money to the Tiger Woods Foundation), and then he’ll be off until the British Open,” said Justice, who said he received a courtesy call from Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, Friday telling him the news. “Tiger loved The Greenbrier and had a great time, but the doctors are telling him he has to rest after playing an event if he’s going to try to make the British Open. And he has to play in his tournament.”
**Amazingly, bettors are flocking to Tiger. He's 7-1 at most sites, reports John Strege.
Strege also reports that Brandel Chamblee talked about the risk of re-injury for Woods by playing a thick rough course next week.
“Listening to John Feinstein talk about the condition of the golf course [Congressional Country Club] — he lives there and is a member there — it’s going to have four-inch thick rough,” Chamblee said on the network’s Golf Central Pregame show. “And then listening to Dr. [Ara] Suppiah talk about the risk of re-injury, every single time Tiger Woods hits it in the rough next week is going to be a hold-your-breath moment.”
