PGA Tour Hits $2 Billion, Finchem Cites Flaws In ESPN Report

Commissioner Teresa popped in the Farmers Insurance Open media center to announce--in surprisingly understated fashion--the collection of charities encompassing the PGA Tour have surpassed $2 billion in giving.

For those wanting the short version, here's my GolfDigest.com report on the session, including the Commissioner's take on ESPN's Outside The Lines report about tour tax breaks.

If you must or the Lunesta just doesn't work like it used to, here is the full transcript with only one explosion of "maximizes" and "platforms."

The commissioner also did not close the door on having a rules staff member monitor telecasts, but also said there is no consideration being given at this moment.

There's no moment of the telecast we don't watch. With respect to one of our rules officials watching the telecast, that's different. We have experimented with that in the past, we don't do it at the moment, but we talk about it invariably, different ways to deal with these issues. That's something that we continue to consider, but we're not doing it right at this moment.
