This Week In Golf Channel Ratings: Kapalua

It's heartening to see the viewers returning for PGA Tour golf after the abysmal fall numbers, as the Hyundai Tournament of Champions drew solid numbers on its Friday-Sunday telecasts (Monday's finale was too late for the numbers posted by Son Of The Bronx).

Saturday's second round telecast drew a .3 and averaged 405,000 viewers, while Sunday's third round going up against the NFL playoffs landed a .2 and a 352,000 average.  Saturday morning's replay of Friday's telecast drew a bigger number than just about anything in the fall. Also, on the same link note that the tour's weekend telecasts beat NBATV's best games for the week.

In the number that means something to the value proposition crowd, Golf Channel had 110,000 prime time viewers for the week, up from 82,000 a year ago, and 77,000 viewers on average, up from 47,000 a year ago.
