**From Mark Herrmann's Newsday story:
By 2019, it will have been 89 years since the PGA Championship was held on Long Island. The original Fresh Meadow Country Club in Great Neck was the site of Tommy Armour's 1930 victory, in what was then a match play format. Nine years later, the PGA was held in Flushing, Queens, on the now defunct Pomonok Country Club layout. Walter Hagen won the third of his four consecutive PGA titles in 1926 at Salisbury Country Club, which is now the Eisenhower Park Red Course.
