Johnny: “[Tiger] needs to get off the schneid at Augusta"
/Golf celebrated Tiger Woods' 38th birthday Monday by talking about...what else? His prospects for winning a major in 2014.
During a conference call to kick off Golf Channel and NBC's coverage of the Hyundai Tournament of Champions, Johnny Miller was asked about the difficulty Tiger faces going forward.
"What he does at Augusta is really important. If he were to win at Augusta, I'd almost bet you he'd win another major this year. Maybe he'd win two majors. But if he doesn't win at Augusta, I think the odds of him winning another one are not that great. I wouldn't bet against him, but he's just a different player than he was when he was younger."
2014 presents four major venues where Tiger has stellar track records: Augusta National, Pinehurst No. 2, Royal Liverpool and Valhalla.
The firm of Fay, Feinstein and yours truly talked about this and Tiger's 2013 on the Grey Goose 19th Hole:
Rich Lerner, Brandel Chamblee and Chris DiMarco talked Tiger and specifically, the venues which favor him in 2014.
