Here: Two Weeks Of Championship Golf From Royal Melbourne

Due to scheduling issues the World Cup of Golf will be played at Royal Melbourne next week after one of the world's top 5 courses hosts this week's Australian Masters. While the course has not a thing to prove after hosting an epic Presidents Cup in 2011 and many other outstanding professional events, it would be naive of us to not keep in mind that it is possibly auditioning as a major championship venue.

After all, there is no better course to fit the PGA of America's needs should they decide to take the PGA overseas in 2020 when the Olympics make a mess of the schedule. It could work as a February venue and is a better fit for television than an Asian site.

Plus, it's ROYAL MELBOURNE.

Martin Blake reports on Adam Scott's press conference
from Melbourne Tuesday where the Masters champ summed up the importance of winning there.

"People say you haven't achieved everything in golf unless you've won the Open at St Andrews, but for an Australian to win a tournament at Royal Melbourne is the same kind of thing, and I'd love to do that.''

I had some inside-the-ropes videos from the 2011 Presidents Cup that had to be taken down due to the PGA Tour's video rights rules, but images from that event should get you in the mood for two weeks straight at one of the world's great layouts.

Live coverage in the USA can be found on Golf Channel starting at 11 pm ET Wednesday.

You can view the draw here.

Two-time cancer survivor Jarrod Lyle tees off at 12:30 Melbourne time with Geoff Ogilvy and Brendon De Jonge.

Speaking of Ogilvy, Mark Hayes reported on the state of his game and his Tuesday presser, where Ogilvy was refreshingly honest (as usual).

Oh, and the tournament's official website is here.
