Take That Uecker! Mike Davis Almost In The Front Row

USGA Executive Director Mike Davis was visible to all of the golfing world (judging by the number of texts and emails I got) watching Tuesday night's Reds-Pirates game from PNC Park.

No one actually was sure it was the Pennsylvania native until the cameras moved in for replays and his golf-logoed sweater vest literally jumped off the screen, a clothing motif suggesting a fresh-off-the-Oakmont-links-for-a-2016-US-Open-site-inspection-that-might-have-even-included-testing-out-all-18-holes.  Davis was only caught in one fan moment by reader Bernard, seen taking a game photo as he sat with Executive Committee member Bill Fallon, a VP at PNC.

(I'd hate to think what I'd look like behind home plate at Dodger Stadium taking an iPhone panorama or wolfing down a Cool-A-Coo...it's an LA thing, you can Google it.)

Should Davis' Pirates make the World Series, he should be able to procure tickets from new USGA partners Fox Sports, whose fresh and innovative approach to baseball coverage has the Series annually reaching new ratings lows.
