The King Must Be A Saint To Put Up With Stuff Like This

Thanks to reader Ryan for this Heather Carlson story from the Post-Bulletin, where Arnold Palmer was going for his routine Mayo Clinic check up and a man claimed he had a bag to put on The King's jet. But he really just wanted an autograph.

Rochester Police Capt. Brian Winters said police received a call from Rochester's Signature Aviation on Tuesday morning about a suspicious circumstance. When authorities arrived, they were told a man showed up in a car with Wisconsin license plates and said he had a bag for a passenger on a plane  that was set to depart. The man was escorted to the plane. But it turned out to be a ruse by the man who wanted to get an autograph from Palmer.

Winters said the man was promptly escorted off the property. He got into his car and was asked to wait for law enforcement to arrive, but the man drove off. At this point, he said police have no suspects because the license plate number they were given does not match the description of the vehicle. He added it's unclear whether the man actually violated any laws since he was escorted onto the property and was not legally required to wait for police to arrive.

"I'm not sure this is a crime," he said.
