And if you were wondering why U.S. Open Champion Webb Simpson and still-active (really!) former Open Championship winner Stewart Cink took to Twitter to support a fast food chain, join the club.

I was not aware of this week's manufactured controversy, but it seems the chicken chain's president, Dan Cathy, spoke out against same-sex unions and today was Chick-fil-A appreciation day.

Though as Mark Dee noted, judging by the follow-up Tweets, Simpson heard from some folks too about the articles he re-Tweeted.

Either way, I'm just glad these two great independent-thinking minds are able to express their views for all the world to ponder.
