The cost was a two-shot penalty and a bogey six but it was the club-throwing reaction that caught the attention. When it comes to being mild-mannered, McIlroy usually makes Clark Kent look Joey Barton. Not this time. "Yep," he said afterwards when asked if he had been overwhelmed by frustration. "I was trying to cut [the shot] in, trying to hold it up against the wind and double-crossed it. I ended up out-of-bounds by about an inch."
