Trump Gets His Crest, Daily Mail Offers Tweaks

Daily Mail Reporter says The Donald has won a battle for the right to use his gold (shocking, I know) and modified family crest for the onslaught of merchandise buyers coming to Trump International Aberdeenshire. I prefer the Daily Mail's alternative version.

But Mr Trump's love of all things Scottish landed him in trouble in 2008 when the court of the Lord Lyon invoked a law dating back to 1672 - to warn him about using an unregistered logo.

It is a criminal offence under the ancient Scottish law to use an unauthorised crest.

But Mr Trump's official emblem has now been recognised - much to the delight of the vice-president of Trump International Sarah Malone, who said a lot of work had gone into designing the coat of arms.

She said today: 'The coat of arms brings together visual elements that signify different aspects of the Trump family heritage and the importance of this project.
