Tiger Still Not Practicing; But He Is Able To Do His Best Spiderman Impersonation
/A few days ago TMZ ran some photos of Tiger and his children enjoying his yacht Privacy starter boat Solitude. I didn't look very closely at the photos until Steve Elling's Tuesday night report appeared suggesting Woods is not working with Sean Foley in preparation for what seemed a likely return at Firestone.
(And if you were wondering if Foley is not helping Tiger prepare because he has been let go, in comments to Rex Hoggard, that does not appear to be the case.)
Here's part of what Elling wrote:
Swing coach Sean Foley said in a text message Tuesday night that the pair have not been working together, which seemingly creates the very real possibility that Woods will miss the PGA Championship next month, too. Bridgestone and the PGA are staged in consecutive weeks and Woods has regularly played in both.
“We have not hit any balls,” Foley wrote Tuesday night. “And I have no idea what his plans are as far as when he plays again. It’s up to the doctors.”
Based on this image, either his leg is doing a lot better or his ability to climb the face of Privacy falls under different doctor's guidelines than hitting a golf ball. I'm guessing his doctor's orders would include not climbing all around a slippery yacht. Ernie Els could speak to the perils of such behavior for knees.
As usual with Tiger, something does not add up.
Is he not as injured as he's let on?
Or is he just burned out and shutting down for the year, but repeatedly dangling the possiblity of playing to appease sponsors, media and the tour?
