Moral Of Elliot Saltman Euro Tour Ban: Get Caught On Video

And apologize profusely, donate your winnings to charity and then beg people to stop bringing it up unless your name is Sandy Lyle. At least, that would be Monty's advice after his Jakarta shenanigans led to him receiving no suspension (and an Internet scrubbing of the dreaded footage!).

But as Lawrence Donegan reports exclusively, Euro Tour journeyman Elliot Saltman has been given three months off by the tournament committee for cheating.

Saltman is the first professional to be expelled from Europe's premier events since Johan Tumba was banned for 10 years in 1992, after changing his scorecard at tour school.

Saltman has been given 28 days to appeal against the decision. His representatives are believed to have spent most of today meeting with lawyers and further meetings are planned for tomorrow with a view to challenging the decision.

So we have seen several high-profile incidents of players either cheating intentionally or accidentally due to not knowing the rules, yet the one guy accused of something where we have no tape and only a temporary admission of guilt on his part, gets three months off.

Somewhere Monty is saying, gosh I'm glad they got mine on tape!
