"I can't really talk about it, I'm just hopeful I would get (a therapeutic exemption)."

Dan Wolken's update of Doug Barron--rabid steroid user under doctor's orders--suggests that the PGA Tour is allowing Barron to apply again for an exemption even as he serves his current suspension.

Despite the ways having low testosterone impacts his everyday life, Barron claims he has not taken an injection since the 2009 St. Jude and didn't have one for eight months before that. The PGA Tour -- which declined to comment Monday on Barron's case -- is allowing him to go through the Therapeutic Use Exemption application process again. But Barron is preparing to go on with his career as though he won't get the therapy he says he needs.

"I can't really talk about it, I'm just hopeful I would get (a therapeutic exemption)," he said. "There's no guarantees, but I know that I have low testosterone still.

"Mentally, I'm prepared to do what I've got to. I'm talented enough in my own mind that I can do what I have to do with or without a TUE."
