Anatomy Of A Masthead: 2010 U.S. Open

The art department, a.k.a. Tom Naccarato, is once again responsible for the special-edition masthead for 2010 U.S. Open week. The image in question is taken from the 1929 U.S. Amateur Program at Pebble Beach and was painted by Maurice Lount.

I thought you might enjoy seeing the forensics of Naccarato's Photoshop effort to salvage the old cover we scanned a few years ago at the Ralph Miller Golf Library (RIP), as well as his effort to turn it into a presentable image and then a masthead.
