Quibbles, Bits And Other Masters Media Notes

My review of the telecasts, Golf Channel and online coverage is now posted at GolfDigest.com.

One thing not covered: the 3D telecast, which Stephanie Wei gives a rave review:

In a way, the players, caddies and fans looked like characters in a video game. Actually, the viewing experience sometimes seemed like The Masters version of a souped-up Xbox game. And I was inside the TV and part of the action. It was just an unreal experience.

Fourteen million* people tuned in for all or part of Masters Week on Golf Channel, topping 2009 numbers by more than 20 percent.

And in a press release, Golf Channel noted this about their coverage on cable:

Fourteen million* people tuned in for all or part of Masters Week on Golf Channel, topping 2009 numbers by more than 20 percent.

And online:

Golf Channel.com, which streamed Woods’ news conference live, pulled in page views for Masters Week that ranked second only to the week of the 2009 WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship when Woods returned to competitive golf following knee surgery.  April 8 posted nearly 2.2 million page views, which represented the largest single day so far in 2010.****
