Where Are You With 3D TV?

The PGA Tour is banking on 3D to embellish golf telecasts in the future and while I must say the in-store demos are great, I can't see taking the plunge to spend extra for the option down the road. Especially after these remarks from Fox Sports' Eric, gulp, Shanks.

"When we did the [MLB] All-Star Game in 3D [in July], we took a lot of heat from the affiliates, even though the viewership for that was small. The Super Bowl is the crown jewel, and having any kind of perceived crack in the exclusivity of that programming is a big deal," he said. Near-term growth in 3D, he said, will be driven more by video gaming, pay TV and non-live programming.

Anyone buying a new television spending the extra dough for 3D compatibility or are you taking a wait-and-see approach?
